Mehrunisa Chikankari Ivory Tunic

Mehrunisa Chikankari Ivory Tunic

$1,100 USD

This ivory Chikankari hand crafted silk georgette tunic is an interplay of white on white shadow work, murri, bakhia, tepchi and phanda stitches in an eclectic medley of graphical elements, with highlights of beadwork, applique and resham embroidery. Shear georgette sleeves with hand cutwork applique embroidery detail, embelished with transluscent bugle beads, splashes of swarovski crystal and matt ivory sequins.

As a brand philosophy, we don't repeat any design in its entirety. Thus, for our couture pieces, the motifs, artwork and some details may differ slightly from the image you see, however the design and aesthetic of the ensemble remains intact.

Styling Tip

Pair this exquisite tunic with embroidered sheer trousers or layered georgette palazzos for a soft, fluid silhouette. Finish the look with crystal earrings, nude heels, and a sleek updo to let the intricate Chikankari detailing take centre stage.

Inspiration

'Chikankari’ is one of the most magnificent Indian embroidery traditions, believed to be introduced by Nur Jehan, Mughal emperor Jahangir's wife in India. The very word ‘Chikankari’ means delicate, shadow work embroidery. This tunic has taken approx 800 hours of painstaking work by our Aadira ladies, who are passionate crusadors for this fast vanishing craft technique.
